Loveless Cafe Pork Chops

Okay, these were wonderful.  I was seriously almost licking the pan.  Okay, I didn't lick the pan, but I did use the leftover French bread to wipe the drippings from the pan because the sauce on these Loveless Cafe Pork Chops was delicious.  It was just too good to let go to waste!

I came across this recipe on one of my best friend's blogs.  Jessica shared this earlier in October and as soon as I saw the recipe, I knew it would be super simple and super delectable.  And was I right!  I will definitely be making this again, and I intend to try it with boneless, skinless chicken breasts as well.  To make things even better, I had every ingredient for the sauce either in my refrigerator or in my pantry, which means that you probably do as well!  Try these soon!  Please!

And make sure you have some bread leftover to finish up the rest of the sauce.

Here is my version of this recipe:

Loveless Cafe Pork Chops

Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1.5 lbs boneless, center cut pork chops (there were four thick chops in my package)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup water
salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:
In a large skillet, heat two tablespoons of oil over medium high heat.  Season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.  When oil is heated, place pork chops in skillet and brown 2-3 minutes on each side.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine mustard, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire and soy sauces, garlic powder, and water.  When pork chops have finished browning on both sides, pour sauce over them.  Lower heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 1 hour.

Transfer pork chops to a platter, leaving sauce in pan.  Raise heat to medium-high and let sauce thicken for 3-5 minutes.  Pour sauce over pork chops and serve.

***My children really enjoyed this dish.  I didn't put as much sauce on theirs as the flavor was strong, but they ate plenty of it!
***The original recipe calls for 1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce OR soy sauce.  However, I figured I couldn't go wrong with either of those, so I included a Tablespoon of each.
***I served this with Oven Roasted Potatoes and steamed broccoli!  Delish!

  1. I think I would enjoy this recipe using chicken breasts. If it's made by the Loveless Cafe, it must be good.
